How the collaboration counts work

Counts describe indexed coauthored outputs, not separate projects or people. “All indexed outputs” includes records beyond those matched to the supplied Scopus author ID; choose “Scopus-confirmed” for that narrower set. An output can count towards several countries. Collaborator counts use publication-time institutional affiliations, with each person counted once per output in the selected country. Names are displayed as supplied by the index; spelling variants may remain separate.

Country markers summarise affiliated institutions and are positioned at their average coordinates. They do not identify study sites or current residences. Missing affiliations are not inferred. Sources: OpenAlex publication and institution records; Natural Earth map boundaries.
