RehabTools brings practical rehabilitation research, measurement tools and interactive explanations into one connected atlas.

From a practical problem to a useful tool

Our original research approach remains the foundation of RehabTools:

1. Identify affordable tools that could measure physical function.
2. Validate them against a suitable reference.
3. Make the systems easier to use.
4. Apply them in research and share the methods.

The aim is to make useful measurement approaches accessible beyond the research laboratory. Each tool has its own limits; free examples do not come with dedicated technical support.

A place for the whole project

Each research page connects its question, interactive, methods, publication status and supplementary material. The collection can grow as new projects and resources become available.

This redevelopment preserves the existing RehabTools knowledge base while making a clear distinction between current interactives, new software previews and historical guides.

Research and contributors

The collection includes work by Ross Allan Clark and collaborators. Individual project pages identify the authors and study details where those are available.

Privacy & accessibility

This website adds no advertising trackers or visitor analytics. The three research companions run on this site. Historical embedded learning materials may still load from external hosts. SeeSway’s new Python workspace processes traces in your browser; scientific libraries are served by this website when analysis starts.

The interface supports keyboard navigation, visible focus, responsive layouts and reduced motion preferences. Research data and methods remain available as text and downloadable files alongside visual explanations.
