TKA-C03 · source wording ambiguity
Classification and audit outcome: source wording ambiguity; supported.
Finding
Kennedy 2005 Methods: Study design states the 8-day figure as the interval between preoperative and first postoperative assessments, rather than unequivocally days after surgery. Avoid converting it to an exact postoperative day without resolving the source wording.
Current amendment or qualification
The first postoperative assessment was within 15 days of surgery. The article reports a median 8-day interval from its preoperative to first postoperative assessment, and a median 38-day interval between postoperative assessments.
Integration note: Do not restate 8 days as unambiguous median postoperative day.

Audit corrections describe the report only where that classification is explicit. A disagreement within a study, missing protocol, statistical query, access upgrade or optional addition is not silently converted into a report error or a new clinical threshold.
