Evidence source and scope

Schröder, Jonas, Hallemans, Ann, Saeys, Wim, Yperzeele, Laetitia, Kwakkel, Gert, Truijen, Steven. Is a portable pressure plate an alternative to force plates for measuring postural stability and interlimb coordination of quiet standing balance control? Journal of rehabilitation and assistive technologies engineering. 2024. DOI 10.1177/20556683241234858

This note indexes a cited or audit-added source. It may be an original study, review, guideline, form or methods reference. Treat the specific design and the evidence below as authoritative; a source note is not automatically a primary study.

Conditions: COND-STROKE Stroke

Scoped audit evidence

These are source- and component-level audit summaries as of 3 October 2026. Access and comparison scope can differ by report; none certifies every result or the underlying raw data.

Stroke

20 healthy volunteers recruited; one corrupt recording excluded, leaving 19 analysed, mean age 35.4 years. Three eyes-open and three eyes-closed trials; 40-second recordings with the first 10 seconds removed leave 30-second analysis windows. Pressure plate 500 Hz and force plate 1000 Hz. Systematically lower COP measurements and proportional bias prevent treating platforms as interchangeable. This was not a stroke validation sample.

Source locator: Methods Participants and Procedures; Results; Bland–Altman analysis

Limitations: Recordings on the two systems were not simultaneous stacked recordings. Reliability or association does not establish agreement.
