Evidence source and scope

Yen-Chang Huang, Wei-Te Wang, Tsan-Hon Liou, Chun-De Liao, Li-Fong Lin, Shih-Wei Huang. Postural Assessment Scale for Stroke Patients Scores as a predictor of stroke patient ambulation at discharge from the rehabilitation ward. Journal of rehabilitation medicine. 2016. DOI 10.2340/16501977-2046

This note indexes a cited or audit-added source. It may be an original study, review, guideline, form or methods reference. Treat the specific design and the evidence below as authoritative; a source note is not automatically a primary study.

Narrative/abstract and tables conflict over ambulatory outcome counts; rolling OR CI/p also inconsistent. Do not deploy PPV/prevalence or threshold without clarification.

Scoped audit evidence

These are source- and component-level audit summaries as of 3 October 2026. Access and comparison scope can differ by report; none certifies every result or the underlying raw data.

Stroke

341 initially nonambulatory first-ischaemic patients; discharge endpoint independent walking over 10 m with usual aids permitted. Static PASS includes sitting and supported standing. Abstract/Results gives 246 ambulatory versus 95 nonambulatory, but Table I labels 95 ambulatory and Table III counts total 95. Total AUC .884 (.846–.923), cutoff 12.5. Table IV static/dynamic ORs 2.95/3.00; rolling OR 1.91 (.94–3.82), p=.044. The report accurately warns against uncritical prevalence, PPV and cutoff use.
