Total hip arthroplasty

22 recruited, 20 retained after two exclusions; posterior approach; assessments baseline, 6 months, 2 years. Fixed strain-gauge force in N, mean of two 3–5-second efforts, 20-second rest. Bilateral stance 20-cm gap; unilateral rod support; 30-second trials; mean two best of three. Two-year abductor difference 15%; bilateral sway improved especially eyes closed. Preoperative noncompletion confirmed.
